Washington, Aug 26 (Globe Live Media)- The White House press secretary, Karine Jean Pierre, assured on Friday that the Republican party politicians who support Donald Trump act as fascists, thus endorsing the statements in which the president, Joe Biden described the former president and his associates as “semi-fascists”.
“If you look at the definition of fascism and think about what they (Trump-supporting Republicans) are doing to our democracy. What they do by taking away our freedoms. It is what that is. It’s very clear,” Jean Pierre said at a press conference in Washington, D.C.
The spokeswoman’s statements come after President Joe Biden described the ideology of Republican politicians who support Trump as “semi-fascist.”
“It’s not just Trump, it’s the whole philosophy behind him. It’s like semi-fascism,” the president said at a fundraiser for his party in Maryland less than two months before the midterm elections.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) rejected Biden’s comments, calling them “despicable.”
“Biden took Americans out of their jobs … and sent our country into a recession,” RNC spokesman Nathan Brand added in a statement.
