The Reche fire has already reached more than 300 acres and despite the danger it presents in Moreno Valley, authorities are bringing it under control.
Summer has arrived in California with high temperatures and that means the state is in fire season. On Friday, the first wildfire was reported in the canyon north of Moreno Valley in California and it came with threats of destroying properties in the area.
The fire was reported Friday after noon in the area of Reche Canyon Road and High Country Drive near Riverside and San Bernardino counties according to the Riverside County Fire Department. During the course of Friday, the fire had already burned about 437 acres.
The area is sparsely populated
Fortunately, CalFire reported that they had contained 30 percent of the wildfire as the flames were moving at a moderate to fast pace. Officials also revealed that one home was affected by the fire due to high winds and helicopters continue to drop water to slow the spread of the fire.
