James Gunn has announced that production has just begun on the series starring Peacemaker, the superhero that John Cena will play in the ‘Suicide Squad’ film that the director of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ has shot and that will premiere on 6 August. This spin-off series will premiere this year on HBO Max.The director has shared an image on his Instagram account, in which he is seen wearing a Peacemaker shirt and completely gray hair.
As he explains, the first season of eight episodes was written in just eight weeks, after delivering the last draft of his script for the third installment of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ for Marvel.

The Peacemaker series was announced in the fall of last year. Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland, who will play John Economos and Emiliar Harcourt in the Suicide Squad movie, will reprise their roles for the series, which also stars Danielle Brooks, Robert Patrick, Chris Conrad, Chukwudi Iwuji and Lochlyn Munro.
