In the final months of 2020, popularize a strange trend: throughout various corners of the world, appeared various monoliths where previously there was nothing. The phenomenon even had its variant in Spain with the appearance of one in Segovia.

The turn of the year has not cut the trend, and in the last days a metal monolith has appeared again. On this occasion, the Turkish province of Sanliurfa, in the south of the country, has been chosen. It thus joins those that appeared in Utah, Romania and California.

However, one of the peculiarities of this monolith is that it has been found very close to the archaeological zone of Gobeklitepe, considered the “oldest temple of humanity” and a UNESCO protected area, which was built around the 9600 and 8200 BC.

Inscription in ancient language

The monolith, made of metal, has an inscription in Proto-Turkish language (Kokturk), and reads as follows: “Look at the sky if you want to see the moon”. It is three meters high by one meter wide and was found last Friday by the owner of adjoining fields. “We don’t know if the metal block was put in my field for advertising or propaganda purposes“.

Disappearance after four days

Despite having armed police surveillance, the monolith has disappeared from the place four days after being found, according to the local press. Thus, the military forces have initiated an investigation to identify who could place the monolith in the area. The security cameras are currently being reviewed and the vehicles that may have carried the monolith there are being investigated.

During these days, dozens of neighbors and onlookers have come to see the object. Residents of the area are “afraid of the event and hope that the officials clarify the origin of this“.
