Biden would be in jail if he were a Republican, says Ron DeSantis
The Florida governor criticized the way the current federal administration has been in charge of covering up the scandals that have emerged around the presidential family.
Ron DeSantis, aspiring to the Republican candidacy for next year’s elections, said that if Hunter Biden, the president’s son, were a Republican, he would be in jail.
During a visit to Iowa to promote his campaign, the Florida governor made his statement after learning that Attorney General Merrick Garland appointed David Weiss, the prosecutor leading the investigation into Hunter Biden, as special counsel in the case.
“If he were a Republican, he’d be in jail right now, and we all know it,” he noted.
In an ironic way, the 44-year-old politician expressed that in case of winning the presidential elections at least he will not have the worry that someone of his family could introduce cocaine to the White House, this after the owner of the drug found in the presidential compound was never identified, although some voices pointed out that it could be Hunter Biden’s.
“The good thing about us is that, you know, my kids are 6, 5 and 3, so they won’t be bringing cocaine into the White House when I’m president. There may be some finger painting, there may be some things that happen, but it’s going to be G-rated,” he expressed.
It should be noted that in recent days Hunter Biden and his lawyers appeared before Judge Maryellen Noreika to accept his guilt in evading two payments of between $1.1 million and $1.5 million, corresponding to federal taxes before the legal deadlines, but the agreement fell through.
The president’s goal is to avoid going to prison, as this would imply a major scandal for his father’s aspirations to extend his tenure in the White House,
However, his legal problems could increase if James Comer, chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, is proven to have made allegations of turbulent business dealings with the president.
In fact, the Tennessee politician said he will subpoena Biden family members, including the president, to explain their alleged foreign business dealings.
