The Ministry of Health of Paraguay registered the Russian vaccine against covid Sputnik V, reported this Friday Russia Direct Investment Fund (FIDR) in a statement.
The registration of the Russian preparation by the Paraguayan authorities, the note adds, was carried out through an emergency procedure, without additional clinical investigations in the territory of the South American country.
The FIDR indicated that the Sputnik V vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya Center, has been registered through the same emergency procedure in Argentina, Bolivia, Venezuela, Serbia, Algeria and Palestine.
Added that vaccine supplies will be guaranteed by international FIDR partners in India, China, South Korea and other countries with which there is an agreement to produce the compound.

He added that Sputnik V will be approved by other countries in the region, and expressed the willingness of the FIDR to “expand cooperation for the joint fight against the pandemic”.
According to its developers, the efficiency of Sputnik V is more than 90% and offers a full guarantee against a serious development of COVID-19.
To date, more than 1.5 million people have already been vaccinated with this Russian preparation, which is administered in two doses.
The Russian Fund for Direct Investment is the sovereign wealth fund of Russia. It was created in 2011 to co-invest, mainly in Russia, together with prominent international institutional investors.
The Fund acts as a catalyst for direct investment in the Russian economy. RDIF’s management company is based in Moscow and RDIF has experience in carrying out, together with foreign partners, more than 80 projects.
