Nine teens were arrested this week for their alleged involvement in two gang-related attacks in Ventura County.
All of the suspects arrested are juveniles and residents of the city of Thousand Oaks, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said.
In a statement, authorities detailed that those arrested were a 17-year-old, two 16-year-olds, five 15-year-olds and a 14-year-old.
According to authorities, the two attacks involved victims being assaulted and having their shoes stolen.
Without detailing the date, the Ventura County Sheriff said a recent robbery was committed by four juvenile gang members at a shopping center in the 200 block of North Moorpark Road.
Four teens attacked two juvenile members of a rival street gang, one of whom was beaten and had his shoes stolen.
Previously, on June 3, the victims of the recent attack, along with three other youths, attacked a teenager in the 600 block of De la Plata Avenue in Newbury Park.
In the incident, the assailants forcibly beat and subdued the victim on the ground while threatening him with a knife near his neck as they stole his shoes.
Authorities said the two incidents were captured on video, evidence that allowed for the identification of the teens involved.
The suspects were located and taken into custody between June 13 and 14. They were booked into the Ventura County Juvenile Justice Center, with court dates pending.
Thousand Oaks authorities assured that they have a zero-tolerance stance against gang-induced violence.
