Los Angeles will host the ninth Summit of the Americas

The ninth Summit of the Americas will be held in Los Angeles in June, US President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday, hoping to focus it on “building a sustainable, resilient and equitable future.”

The United States convenes leaders from the region “to further our shared commitment to economic prosperity, security, human rights, and dignity,” the White House said in a statement.

The Summit of the Americas is “the only” meeting that brings together the leaders of the countries of North, South and Central America and the Caribbean, he adds.

“The ability of our democracies to bridge the gap between what we promise and what we deliver depends largely on what we do together to improve it,” the White House said, insisting that US interests “are inextricably linked” to the fate of their “nearest neighbors in the Americas.”

In the text Biden underlines the “deep and historic commitment” of the United States with the peoples of the Americas and with Build Back Better World (B3W), an initiative of the president to counteract the new Chinese Silk Road to basis of the disbursement of tens of billions for the development of infrastructures. (I)
