Joe Biden, the President of the United States, who has Irish origins, congratulated Sunday the XV of Ireland, winner the day before the All Blacks (29-20).

So proud of you!  Joe Biden, the President of the United States, who never misses an opportunity to talk about his Irish origins, called on the Irish team to congratulate them on their victory over New Zealand (29-20) on Saturday at Dublin.

A video, notably broadcast by the Irish Times daily , shows Joe Biden, sitting on the armrest of an armchair, between his sister Valerie and his brother James, whom he presents to his interlocutors with a smartphone.

“  Congratulations guys!  “, Launched the American president to the Irish players, telling them that he was”  so proud  “of them. Cheers were heard at the other end of the link. ”  We are huge fans,  ” said Joe Biden, who had already written to the Irish XV to encourage him, before the meeting.

The XV of Ireland at the White House?

”  What’s the final score again?”  James Biden asked. ”  29-22  “, replied Joe Biden, before the interlocutor, who was not identified, restored the exact score ( 29-20 ). This is only the third time in its history that Ireland have beaten the All Blacks.

We also heard a voice evoking a possible visit to the White House. “  I could fix that,  ” Biden said. The President of the United States gladly recalls his Irish roots, going back to ancestors on the maternal side. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, home to many Irish Americans, Joe Biden also quotes Irish poets and occasionally wears a tie adorned with shamrocks, a symbol of Ireland.
