After announcing his withdrawal from the race for the presidency of the country, President Joe Biden will deliver his first speech on the matter from the Oval Office. The Democratic leader revealed his decision last July 21 through a press release issued via social networks:

“It has been the greatest honor of my life to be your President. And while it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to step down and focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term,” said Biden, adding that he will share more details in the coming days.

Just three days after his decision, and after showing his support for Vice President Kamala Harris as a possible Democratic candidate, the White House leader has announced that he will give a speech to inform citizens about “what lies ahead”.

As revealed by the president, his speech will take place this Wednesday, July 24, from the Oval Office, on the dot of 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (7:00 p.m. CT / 6:00 p.m. MT / 5:00 p.m. PT).

“Tomorrow evening at 8 p.m. (Eastern Time), I will address the nation from the Oval Office about what lies ahead and how I will finish the job for the American people,” Joe Biden said via social media.
