Larry Page, one of the guys who started Google, just spent over $173 million on two big homes in Miami. This news shows how tech billionaires are moving to Florida fast.

The buys happened recently. In December 2024, Page paid $101.5 million for a huge property in Coconut Grove. It sits right by Biscayne Bay and covers about 1.8 hectares. That’s like a big park with two main houses.

One house is historic, built in the 1920s for a famous politician. The other is newer, from around 2002. He got it from the family of a late restaurant owner.

Then, in January 2025, he bought another one nearby for $71.9 million. This modern home has about 1,600 square meters and seven bedrooms. It was built around 2015. The sellers were a business couple โ€“ she’s from a rich family, and he’s a CEO.

Both spots are in Coconut Grove, a quiet, green part of Miami with water views.

Why Miami? Many say it’s about taxes. California talks about a new wealth tax on rich people. It could hit hard, even going back in time. Florida has no state income tax, so it’s a big draw.

Lots of tech stars are doing the same. Miami is hot for luxury buys now. In 2025, Florida had more sales over $50 million than New York or California.

Other big names like Ken Griffin bought there too. Even Sergey Brin, the other Google co-founder, is looking at properties in the city.

These deals stayed secret at first. Top agents handled them quietly because competition is tough.

Page keeps a low profile these days. He stepped back from Google years ago but still has billions. Moves like this show where he might spend more time.

Miami keeps growing as a spot for the super-rich. Sunny weather, beaches, and tax perks make it hard to beat.
