Federal authorities have closed all ports of entry into the United States from western New York because of the incident at the Rainbow Bridge near Buffalo.
The FBI is investigating the explosion of a vehicle that came from Canada and exploded on the Rainbow Bridge of entry to the United States near Niagara Falls, north of Buffalo, New York, on the possibility that it could be a terrorist attack. Border crossings are closed in that area between the U.S. and Canada.

All border crossings in western New York into Canada were closed
All bridge crossings in Western New York into the United States were also closed, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office said. The vehicle was headed to the United States from Canada, it said.
Several emergency vehicles were at the bridge entrance and federal authorities were investigating, NBC affiliate WGRZ of Buffalo reported.
