The injured person was transported by Miami-Dade firefighters to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

One person was died and another injured after a brutal early morning crash in an area of Miami Gardens, forcing the temporary closure of a stretch of State Road 7 (SR 7).

MGPD units responded to the aforementioned area in reference to a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, officers discovered a two-vehicle crash, which resulted in a full engulfment of a blue Infinity with a male driver found deceased. The driver of a gray Toyota was airlifted to a nearby hospital. At this time, the cause of the crash is currently under investigation.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue confirmed the death and said the injured person was airlifted to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Miami Gardens police said that around 3:00 a.m. officers responded to the area of NW 210th Street following reports of a car on fire. When they arrived they found that it was a two-vehicle collision that ended with one of the vehicles, a blue Infinity, engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Infinity was dead at the scene, according to police, while the driver of a gray Toyota pickup truck was the person transported to the hospital by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

Authorities closed a stretch of SR 7 in both directions, between 207th Street and 215th Street, while they lift the accident and conduct the investigation.

Images captured by Globe Live Media showed one car completely destroyed and another with severe damage.
