The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has authorized Pfizer boosters for children 12 years of age and older.

Previously reinforcement for people 16 years and older was already recommended, but federal regulators decided to broaden the range to cover minors between the ages of 12 and 15, the decision is made after the restart of classes after the vacation period.

Will the booster shot also be authorized for minors?

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) must decide if reinforcements for younger youth are also authorized, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky is expected to announce the decision this week.

The FDA also indicated that people 12 years of age and older they can receive the booster from the age of five months after the last dose instead of six, as said before; and even though the vaccine COVID offers solid protection against serious symptoms caused by the virus, health authorities urge that you choose to apply reinforcement.
