Ricardo González Gutiérrez, known as Cepillín, died at the age of 75 today (Monday) after being hospitalized for back pain last week.
The news of the death was confirmed by his son, who last night reported that his father had been intubated after presenting heart complications and with pneumonia after being operated on the spine.
The singer who performed famous songs such as Las Mañanitas con Cepillín, Tomás, El Bosque de la China, accompanied and enlivened the childhood of thousands in Latin America, died of complications after an operation on the spine.
The clown, singer, circus and television presenter was hospitalized last week at the Corporativo Hospital Satélite after presenting discomfort after a fall; Cepillín underwent spinal surgery and was reported stable, but presented complications this weekend.
Ricardo González, son of the interpreter and comedian, reported that the comedian had cancer. The disease was recently discovered during surgery on his spine.
The son of ‘the TV clown,’ explained that they expected Cepillín himself to inform him, since it was estimated that he would be discharged last Tuesday, but he had heart complications and the pneumonia that he presented, so this Sunday they took him to intensive care, where he was intubated.
Ricardo Gonzáles explained that his father would begin cancer treatment in three weeks, to recover from surgery.
The ‘TV clown’ underwent surgery last week, after being admitted to the Corporate Hospital Satelite due to excruciating pain in the spine.
The surgery that the comedian underwent lasted more than seven hours, in which they placed screws. The artist entered the operating room from 4 in the afternoon until midnight last Sunday.
