• On September 27, the president of the United States will travel to Orlando, Florida, to deal with the sending of immigrants by plane to Martha’s Vineyard

Joe Biden will travel on September 27 to Orlando, Florida, to personally discuss the sending of immigrants from that city to Martha’s Vineyard.

The White House’s decision comes a day after Florida Governor DeSantis defended his actions as one of the innovative measures he has implemented to “protect the state of Florida from the impact of Biden’s border policies,” whom he accused of of not “lifting a finger to secure the borders”.

Biden has called for a solution to immigration

It was during the 45th Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute Gala in Washington, D.C. held on Thursday evening that the president of the United States asked the Republican governors to work in his administration on solutions to immigration problems instead of dedicating themselves to “playing politics with human beings”.

“Republicans should long ago come to the table and provide a path to citizenship for dreamers, temporary status holders, farmworkers and essential workers,” he said. “We need to modernize our laws so businesses get the workers they need and families don’t have to wait decades to get back together.

DeSantis accused of politicizing immigration

Venezuelan leaders and other immigration advocates have spoken out against Florida Governor DeSantis, accusing him of using families and even children as “props” for political theater.

“It’s just from DeSantis’ cruel political stunt show, using human beings,” Adelys Ferro, a Democrat who heads the nonprofit Venezuelan-American Caucus, told WLRN before a news conference in Doral.

María Corina Vegas, Florida Deputy State Director for the American Business Immigration Coalition lamented that just on the first day of Hispanic Heritage Month there is talk of how DeSantis sent two planes full of immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard.

Immigrants believed their destination was Boston

The 50 immigrants, mostly Venezuelans, who were sent by Florida Governor DeSantis to Martha’s Vineyard boarded the plane convinced they would go to Boston where they would quickly find employment.

According to NPR, who had the opportunity to speak with three of the 50 immigrants who arrived in Martha’s Vineyard, revealed that the immigrants were victims of deception by the DeSantis government who sent them to the favorite site of the Obamas and John Kerry instead of taking them to Boston.

“She (Perla) offered us help. She helps that she never arrived”, said one of the immigrants who was identified as Andrés who also took the opportunity to say “Now we are here. We got on the plane with a vision of the future, of achieving it.”
