US President Joe Biden made his first call to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, according to the White House.

Press secretary Jen Psaki said Biden spoke with Putin at noon with the intention of discussing the new START treaty, Ukraine, the Solarwinds, Afghanistan cyberattack and the poisoning of Alexei Navalny.

It is the first time the two men have spoken since Biden took office last week. Putin was one of the last world leaders to congratulate him on winning the presidency.
