The American airline American Airlines announced how its flight frequency will be for the month of April in the corresponding connection between Miami and Havana.
The company reported that from March 29 onwards it will make a flight on Mondays that will arrive in the Cuban capital at 11:50 am and will leave for the American city at 12:50 pm
The statement also mentions that the flight number will be AA2705 / AA2706 and for more information on these changes, users can go to the Sales office of the Business Center in Miramar 76 street between 3rd and 5th avenues, in the Cuban capital or call the numbers 7-214-4845 and 7-214-4847.
American Airlines and JetBlue confirmed that they will continue with a single flight frequency to Havana during the month of April. Southwest’s itinerary from the city of Tampa has yet to be confirmed.
American Airlines flights between Havana and Miami decreased at the beginning of the year when the island’s authorities implemented measures due to the increase in imported cases of Covid-19.
On that occasion, several Cubans with residence in the United States and United States citizens were stranded on the island trying to get a space in the few available routes and others resorted to humanitarian flights to leave the island as soon as possible in the middle of a closure of borders.
These types of flights were managed by the DimeCuba Travel agency and had a cost of $ 549 with a stopover in Cancun.
In addition to the US, Cuba also decreased its air connection with the Bahamas, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Panama, Guyana and Colombia.
Preventive measures to enter Cuba
Travelers who arrive in Cuba have the obligation to comply with preventive measures so that they are authorized to stay on the island, even if they are local citizens.
In airports, a Covid-19 detection test with a negative result is required and one must also be carried out in the terminals.
As the result of the test is confirmed, foreigners and non-resident Cubans are isolated in hotel facilities for which a cost of stay and transportation must be paid.
Local citizens are taken to isolation centers authorized by the State and free of charge. When a negative result is confirmed, they are provided with transportation to their homes.
Throughout the pandemic, it has been reported that the State centers are in terrible condition and in most cases there are overcrowding.
