Thai model Bew Jirajariyawetch always dreamed of living in New York. The 23-year-old girl achieved her dream last summer and began a new life in the American city, without imagining what was going to happen to her on the subway shortly after.
The model Jirajariyawetch saw “the other side” of the Big Apple when she was brutally attacked on a New York subway platform on November 22, according to The Post . ” I’m glad I’m still alive ,” Jirajariyawetch said.
The Jirajariyawetch was waiting for the train to Queens around 4 a.m. after seeing Thai-American singer Daboyway at a concert with friends.
She was standing on the edge of the platform when a stranger suddenly approached from behind and made a key, covering his nose, mouth and eyes, “to make sure he couldn’t make any noise,” explains the young woman.
“He dragged me where no one could see me. He hit me and took my bag from me,” Jirajariyawetch said, his voice shaking.
Surveillance footage showed the Jirajariyawetch attacker pulling the woman back several meters before throwing her to the ground and hitting her multiple times. While on the ground, the assailant allegedly touched the woman’s private parts and shot off with her purse.
The heartbreaking video ends with the woman sitting in a daze and reaching for her bloody face . Someone finally found her and called for help. “I don’t know what would have happened,” if no one had found her, Jirajariyawetch said.
