The game has been announced for the Switch for quite a while, but nothing new has been seen since then. But that has now changed! The Pokémon Company has released a lot of new information about New Pokémon Snap, the successor to the popular Nintendo 64 game from the 90s. There is also a new trailer and a release date for the Switch game.

New information about the game
In New Pokémon Snap you explore a region called Lental. The diverse landscape leads you through different areas from small islands to dry deserts. There you will meet numerous Pokémon and their natural habitats, writes The Pokémon Company on Twitter. As a Pokémon photographer, you will explore the Lental region to study the pocket monsters and capture them in pictures. You will receive support from Professor Mirror – typical Pokémon. Rita, the assistant of the professor, will also be at your side on your photographic adventure
As with the N64 original, your snapshots will also be rated by the professor in New Pokémon Snap for the Switch; at that time Professor Eich took over this task, now it is Professor Mirror. The aim is to complement the Photodex with particularly great shots.
New Pokémon Snap release date
New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch will be released on April 30, 2021, on a Friday. Pre-orders are now possible. The one and a half minute trailer gives you a first impression of what to expect from the game.
On the occasion of the game’s announcement last summer, we also prepared a detailed preview of the game with many pictures from the announcement trailer. You can find the preview of New Pokémon Snap here.
