Thor: Love and Thunder, will be the long-awaited new movie of Thor, the god of the hammer, which has begun shooting in 2021 and we will be able to see in early 2022. Thus, this film will become the fourth in the series, after Thor was released in 2011, Thor: The Dark World in 2013 and Thor: Ragnarok in 2017.
The truth is that the adventures of the god of the hammer have become one of the most popular in the incredible Marvel universe. So we are pleased to know that we can continue to enjoy the Viking superhero in 2021.
The new film will be directed by New Zealand director Taika Waititi. His name will sound familiar to you because in 2019 he won the Oscar for best adapted screenplay for the film Jojo Rabbit (if you haven’t seen it yet, we recommend it). He himself plays the role of Adolf Hitler in the award-winning film.
The New Zealander already has experience directing superhero movies: Avengers: Endgame or Thor: Ragnarok also exist, in part, thanks to Waititi.
What will the new Thor movie be about?
In this case, the new Thor movie will once again use the hammer god comics as a reference. This is why Jane Foster will appear, who used the hammer of the god and therefore ended up becoming the goddess of thunder.
It is a bit disappointing that for one of the few times that we have a superheroine with a leading role, the title of the film uses the word “love”, a theme that is always attributed to women.
However, we will wait to see the movie to judge. Maybe Thor: Love and Thunder will surprise us.
On the other hand, the leaked images of the filming of the new film, published by the Daily Mail, show us the actors Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Chris Pratt, who played Star Lord in the Guardians of the Galaxy saga.
It is here where we wanted to rescue one of the scenes from the end of the Endgame movie, where both characters appear together. Thor is granting his position as protector of Asgard to Valkyrie so he can travel through space with Star Lord and his team. We think that this scene may be important to understand the plot of the movie Thor: Love and Thunder.
When will Thor: Love and Thunder release?
The film has started shooting in 2021. As we have stated in the interior section, images of that same shoot have already been leaked, as you can see below.
The fact that the movie started shooting this year means that we will still have to wait practically another year to see Thor: Love and Thunder.
The official date on which the new installment of Thor will hit theaters is February 2, 2022.

Who will act in Thor: Love and Thunder?
We have already confirmed two of the actors, as expected, Chris Hemsworth will return to play the mythical Thor as he has done since the first superhero movie in 2011. Actor Chris Patt will also appear as Star Lord.
Actress Tessa Thompson will reprise the Valkyrie as in the first Thor movie. The iconic actress Natalie Portman will return to the Marvel universe as Jane Foster and as the goddess of thunder.
Other actors and actresses who could appear in the film are: Christian Bale, Jaimie Alexander, Pom Klementieff, Karen Gillan, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista or Matt Damon.
