After Microsoft took over numerous developer studios in 2018 and made some of them into the company’s own Xbox Game Studios, the purchase of Bethesda was one of the biggest deals in the industry. Those responsible at Microsoft paid a total of 7.5 billion US dollars. But now there could be more takeovers soon.
According to a recent tweet from insider and journalist Brad Sams, a lot of money is currently being offered for various game companies. Some developers are said to have already received several bids. However, he was unable to reveal when one of these deals would be closed. But not only Microsoft, but also other publishers are on the list of potential buyers of further studios. Last year, for example, there were repeated rumors about a sale of Warner Bros. Interactive with teams like Rocksteady Games, NetherRealm Studios or TT Games. So far, however, there has been no takeover.

The candidates include the makers of Asobo (Microsoft Flight Simulator, A Plague Tale: Innocence) or Techland, who are currently working on Dying Light 2. One of the most recent deals in the industry is the acquisition of Codemasters by Electronic Arts. Previously, Take-Two made an offer here, but it was later outbid. We stay tuned for you.
