MEXICO CITY, Dec 19 (Reuters) – Mexico reported 12,129 new confirmed cases of coronavirus on Saturday, bringing the number to a total of 1,313,675 infections, health authorities reported.
In the last hours, 627 deaths related to the pandemic were also recorded, bringing the number of fatalities to 117,876.
The outbreak of coronavirus caused the metropolitan area of the Valley of Mexico, which includes the capital of the country and the contiguous State of Mexico, to decide to suspend non-essential activities until January 10 and call on the population not to leave their homes during the holidays.
