After 1372 episodes of “Serve and Protect,” TVE’s La 1 series said goodbye forever last January. However, they quickly found a substitute for the legendary series with “The Promise.”
The fiction, which can be seen every weekday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., features a cast of some of the best-known actors and actresses in Spain. Among them is Eva Martin, one of the main actresses who plays the role of Cruz Ezquerdo. In this series, she portrays a woman who has no respect for the power that ambition has over her. For Ezquerdo, her reputation comes first and above all else.
Eva Martin’s past, the actress of “The Promise”
At 48, Eva Martin’s CV stands out for her background in cinema, television, and also on the theater stage. The Girona native graduated in English philology, but quickly saw her career focused on the world of acting and music. In fact, the latter led her to be part of different groups as a singer of bossa nova, ethnic, jazz, and blues, among other styles.
Her career began in 2006 in the series “Dangerous Friendships,” where she portrayed the character of Julio. Later, she participated in “The Commissar,” “He Who Arrives,” “Central Hospital,” “Merlí: Sapere Aude,” “Disappeared,” and now “The Promise” and “The Invisible Ones.”
In the world of cinema, she has been part of various castings. Some as famous as “The Tribe,” “Escape Plan,” “Viral,” and the latest directed by Pedro Almodóvar, “Pain and Glory,” the film that stars Antonio Banderas.
Her most intimate side
Unsurprisingly, Eva prefers to keep her personal life away from the spotlight and keeps it as private as possible on social media. However, with her three million followers, she shares photos of her work on set, as well as some of the trips she takes with her loved ones.
In fact, it was on her Instagram profile that she showed us that she is a nature lover, discovering new corners of our country, spending time by herself, and where she gives us a summary of all her projects.
From time to time, Eva lets us see her most natural and closest side and brings us closer to her world of work from another angle. This is how we could see her on the day of the premiere of “The Promise,” where the actress shared a nice message on her social media: “Today, finally, we can show you the result of so many hours of study, so many rehearsals, so many early mornings… anything that goes into filming a daily series which, in addition, is vintage,” she wrote.
