The state has several options for its residents to make an appointment for the vaccine.

All California residents 16 years of age or older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, for this reason, we want to introduce you to the different options they have to schedule a vaccination appointment throughout the state.

California made available the website www.Myturn.ca.gov where previously people had to register to find out their eligibility, however, with the new flexibility, residents will now be able to directly make an appointment to be vaccinated.

Another option is to contact the Public Health Departments in each county. There is also the possibility that they will find vaccination centers where they do not need an appointment, however, they must be willing to travel to other counties in the state.

Pharmacy web pages are another option, these establishments are receiving more doses of the vaccine so they open more appointments for people who need them.

CVS explained that the Federal Government sends them supply notifications and they decide the location of their pharmacy based on what they call a “social vulnerability index”. They then update the appointment system and make sure they do it regularly.

You can find more appointments available during the early morning.

In the case of Walgreens, they update their inventory weekly, although they did not specify the day.

It is advisable to call pharmacies for information as many of them do not administer vaccines without an appointment.

People who get vaccinated in another county or far from where they live do not have to go back to the place where the first dose was given to get the second dose.
