Interestingly, some fast food restaurants leave much to be desired when it comes to receiving and delivering orders to their customers “quickly”, and more so if it is a drive thru.
A report from the mystery shopping service SeeLevel HX showed that since the pandemic, delivery times have increased drastically in the lines that cars make to order and receive their orders. Times went up by more than 25 seconds from 2020 to 382 seconds in 2021.
In order to determine which is the restaurant with the slowest drive thru in the United States in 2022, the QSR Magazine medium took on the task of surveying more than 1,000 consumers of these services.
The medium focused on providing information for the restaurant industry found that factors such as convenience, speed of service, and order accuracy help drive efficient service in a drive-thru establishment.
The report mentioned that Chick-fil-A was the restaurant with the longest service of the year, with an average of 325.47 seconds. By contrast, Taco Bell had the fastest serve at 221.99 seconds.
The 10 establishments with the shortest and shortest wait time in the drive thru:
1. Taco Bell (221.99 seconds)
2. Dunkin’ Donuts (238.16 seconds)
3. KFC (239.02 seconds)
4. Arby’s (261.19 seconds)
5. Burger King (266.68 seconds)
6. Hardee (272.10 seconds)
7. Wendy’s (275.84 segundos)
8. Carl’s Jr. (289.36 seconds)
9. McDonald’s (291.30 seconds)
10. Chick-fil-A (325.47 seconds)
Although Chick-fil-A was found to have the slowest drive thru service, the report said this is because restaurants are busier than their competitors. According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index, Chick-fil-A has maintained its position as America’s favorite restaurant for the eighth consecutive year.
The average number of cars in the drive thru line tops it:
1. Chick-fil-A (5.45 autos)
2. McDonald’s (3.13 autos)
3. Wendy’s (2.67 autos)
4. Arby’s (2.28 autos)
5. Burger King (2.19 records)
6. Taco Bell (2.17 cars)
7. Dunkin’ Donuts (2.11 autos)
8. KFC (1.8 cars)
9. Hardee’s (1.64 autos)
10. Carl’s Jr. (1.63 autos)
Another aspect that was also taken into account was the accuracy of the orders. In this category they were arranged as follows:
