Miami is gearing up to welcome thousands of people to the world’s largest electronic music festival, the Ultra Music Festival, which will once again take place at Bayfront Park this weekend.
Miami Police Chief Manuel Morales warned that “traffic is going to be one of the most problematic incidents,” while Miami Fire Department spokesman Pete Sanchez said the event was planned for months with the Miami police and the organizers of Ultra One hundred fire paramedics will be present at the event with multiple resources to help people and provide first aid if needed.

When is the Ultra Music Festival?
Friday: Doors open at 4 p.m. until midnight.
Saturday: Doors open from noon to midnight.
Sunday: Doors open from noon to 10 p.m.
Which streets will be closed and what will be the impact on traffic in Miami?
Beginning at 9:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, all northbound traffic on Biscayne Boulevard will be diverted to the southbound lanes on Southeast 1st Street and continue the normal route on Northeast 4th Street.
All southbound traffic on Biscayne Boulevard will be diverted west onto 6th Street NE (northeast).
There will be no southbound traffic on Biscayne Boulevard from 6th Street NE (northeast).
All southbound traffic will be diverted to NE 2nd Avenue and North Miami Avenue.
Access to PortMiami will remain open throughout the event at 5th Street NE. Authorities advise drivers to use the Port of Miami Tunnel, accessible from Interstate 395.
The barricades will fall at 10 p.m. Sunday and traffic will resume its regular pace.
Metromover and Metrorail service
The Metromover and Metrorail service will extend its hours from 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, his schedule will end at midnight.
Parking in any garage or Metrorail lot costs $4.50 per day. The car parks will remain open until the next day.
Transit riders can pay for parking in Metrorail garages and surface lots at ticket machines or via mobile devices with the PayByPhone app.
Other security measures
The organizers ensure that the safety of participants and residents is the priority of this event which brings together people from more than 100 countries.
There will be a zero tolerance policy that prohibits the use and possession of illegal drugs. Narcotics laws will be strictly enforced and police will be working undercover for the event.
Event attendees are urged to stay hydrated and first aid tents will be clearly visible and located throughout the event grounds to assist anyone in need.
Closed bags will not be allowed and it is suggested not to carry any type of bag, although small transparent bags are not prohibited.
The DJs and artists present at the event
Ultra will feature countless DJs throughout the weekend.
On Friday, Martin Garrix, Zedd, Afrojack, Gryffin, Charlotte De Witte, Endless Summer and Frank Walker will take to the main stage.
Marshmello, Alesso, Hardwell, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Dom Dolla, Vintage Culture, Nicky Romero, Fedde Le Grand, MYKRIS and Syn Cole will perform on the main stage on Saturday.
Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Oliver Heldens, Tchami, Vini Vici, Timmy Trumpet, Deorro, Cedric Gervais and Kapuchon will close the main stage on Sunday.
