Two people were stabbed to death in or near Los Angeles subway Red Line stations on Thursday, and the assailant or assailants remained at large.
The first attack took place at the Hollywood/Western subway station. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the suspect stabbed the victim and fled around 4:55 p.m.
The victim’s condition was not immediately available.
The attack caused a brief service disruption on the B (Red) Line of the Metro, but all trains resumed their normal schedule later Thursday, according to LA Metro.
Next, a 35-year-old man was stabbed to death at the Westlake/MacArthur Park station in the 600 block of Alvarado Street, LAPD said. This attack occurred around 8:23 p.m.
The man suffered cuts to his neck and torso but was found conscious and breathing, the LAPD said. The assailant carried a large knife and fled.
It was unclear if the same person was responsible for the two stab wounds.
