On April 15, Twitter will completely renew the look that millions of its users receive in their applications. Because from this day, as Elon Musk himself confirmed in his official profile, the popular social network will limit the use of the For You tab to subscribers of Twitter Blue.
This doesn’t mean that the rest of us mortals won’t be able to see this tab from now on, but rather that only tweets from tweeters who have already gone through the box can be seen in this section. A situation that caused great unease among users who saw in this tab one of their few options to viralize their content.
It’s clear that these content creators have two options: either pay for Twitter Blue or start growing their following among tweeters who haven’t followed them to date. If you don’t do one of these two options, your visibility will be significantly reduced. Until now, the tab for you displayed not only Twitter Blue users, but also messages that, by affinity or interest, could be related to your use of the social network.
According to the owner of the social network “it’s the only realistic way to deal with swarms of advanced AI robots. Otherwise, it’s a losing battle”.
And that won’t be Twitter’s only big change for the next few days. The changes will also include the disappearance of the “verify” symbol for all users who do not have a subscription. Starting April 1, millions of accounts from celebrities, media, businesses, and more. who have not paid will find themselves without the popular symbol which until now verified their identity.
Starting April 15, only verified accounts will be eligible to be featured in For You recommendations.
This is the only realistic way to deal with the takeover of swarms of advanced AI robots. It is otherwise a losing battle.
Voting in polls will require verification for the same reason.

Critics surrounding these changes have skyrocketed, focusing on the fact that the way is clear for those who want to impersonate identities and have the money to do so. It must be remembered that Twitter already had to reinvent the “check” by coloring it yellow to differentiate it from the blue accounts it had given away, since many users, after paying, had devoted themselves to buying accounts and launching hoaxes on the network which financially affected several companies in the United States
