Three shootings in the city of Atlanta, Georgia, kill eight people, seven of them women. The person responsible was detained by authorities 150 miles south of the city. The three centers where the shootings occurred are Asian massage centers.

A 21-year-old man has shot dead eight people in attacks on three Asian massage parlors in Atlanta, Georgia. Of these eight people killed, seven of them were women , and the alleged perpetrator was subsequently arrested by the authorities.

The man, identified as Robert Aaron Long , was detained 150 miles (250 km) south of the city. According to the authorities, the individual is responsible for these three attacks and his motives are still unknown.

Prior to his arrest, the Police published on their social networks various images of the attacker captured by nearby security cameras, in order to resort to citizen help and collaboration.

Shortly before 5:00 p.m. (local time), the first shooting occurred at a salon called Young’s Asian Massage Parlor, located in Cherokke County north of Atlanta. In this first attack, four people were killed, wounding a fifth. The dead are three women, two of them Asian, and a man.

The second attack took place around 5:45 p.m., where four other people were killed in two rooms on the same block in the city of Atlanta. In one of the salons, Gold Spa, three women died, and in the Aromatherapy Spa, another woman. All of them of Asian origin.
