Colorado commemorates the 22nd anniversary of the Columbine school massacre on April 20, 1999.

In the shooting, 13 people lost their lives and the two students who perpetrated the massacre, after committing suicide at the end of the attack, and 24 more people were injured.

Students Cassie Barnall (17), Steven Curnow (14), Corey DePooter (17), Kelly Fleming (16), Mattews Kechter (16), Daniel Mauser (15), Daniel Rohrbough (15), Rachel Scott (17), Isaiah Shoels (18), John Tomlin (16), Lauren Townsend (18) and Kyle Velasquez (16) lost their lives in the massacre, in addition to Professor Dave Sanders (47).

The Columbine Victims Memorial Day began five years ago, with the goal of creating a global movement of service and kindness to others and in solidarity with other communities around the world that have experienced tragedies.
