High winds blew through southern California on Monday with gusts above 50 mph in several areas.
A maximum gust of 70 mph was recorded Monday just before 6 p.m. at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima. In the Santa Clarita Valley north of Los Angeles, a peak gust of 69 was recorded in Saugus around 4 p.m.

In Sherman Oaks, a tree snapped as it was about to fall on an apartment complex on Monday afternoon. The tree was supported by the branch of another tree, preventing the branches from crossing the roof of the building.
No injuries were reported. About ten residents were evacuated.
In San Gabriel, a tree fell on a house, damaging power lines and the roof of the house. No injuries were reported.
A wind advisory remains in effect Tuesday for communities north of Los Angeles, including Santa Clarita. Temperatures will be about 10 degrees cooler than Monday.
