The Mandalorian is back in style, with an action-packed chapter and references to the Star Wars saga, which will delight fans. If you think you missed a wink or a reference from Chapter 1 Season 3, you can check out this list. These are all the Easter Eggs we saw in Din Djarin’s Return.
the purgils
While traveling to Nevarro, Grogu sees the silhouettes of giant space whales known as purrgils, creatures capable of swimming in hyperspace. Space Whales were last seen in Star Wars Rebels, and they forced Admiral Thrawn’s flagship into hyperspace with Padawan Ezra Bridger aboard. This story will be taken up in the Ahsoka series.
El N-1 Starfighter
The ceremony that opens episode 1 of season 3 is interrupted by the attack of a giant sea creature. Din Djarin gets rid of it using his N-1 fighter, which he acquired in The Book of Boba Fett. It is a Naboo starfighter, and its weapons are identical to those shown in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace. Even the sound effects are similar to the movie.
Nevarro’s Droids
Many recognized some rather familiar droids from The Mandalorian Season 3 premiere. Most striking is a protocol droid very similar to C-3PO, which was built by Anakin Skywalker. in the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Greef Karga’s protocol droid is probably a more standard model.
There is no fear
The final chapter brought back the race called Anzellan. An Anzellan named Babu Frik appeared in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and, from what we could see, the whole race seems to be expert on droids. The inclusion of these little beings in the series also opens the door for a possible Babu Frik cameo in the future.
the asteroid field
After leaving Nevarro, we witness an action scene set in an asteroid field. This is in reference to The Empire Strikes Back and Attack of the Clones. Both films have battles in asteroid fields. The Season 3 premiere follows suit with a fight between Din Djarin and the space pirates.
