The character of Abbie introduced into The Last of Us Part II generated a strong controversy among the fans of the series The naughty dog for the role and actions he performs throughout the story. But over time some “fans” have gone far beyond common sense.
The senseless death threats to Abby’s voice actress in The Last of Us Part 2 sparked a lot of discussion, Laura Baileywho has collected some of the most serious messages directed at him on Twitter, also sparking backlash in his defense of Neil Druckmandirector of the game. A problem which however did not only concern Bailey since it Jocelyn Mettler, a model who lent her face to Abby, has received similar threats over time. And apparently he still continues to receive them, almost three years after the game was released on PlayStation 4.
In fact, Mettler shared the email received from a player on Twitter (Warning: Twitter post contains spoilers) which addresses very serious threats with violent tones, to which the woman reacts by pointing out that she has not been in the pay of Naughty Dog since 2017 and by pointing out the enormous stupidity of such abuse and threats.
“This stuff isn’t even scary, it’s just boring. I work behind a goddamn desk. I’m sitting around trying to do my job well, and some idiot decides to complain about me. I can imagine them screaming furiously as they do it, pathetic“, says Mettler in other tweets, adding that”I hate posting stuff like this and have been quietly dealing with it for years, but I want people to know that these things still happen now, especially now that The Last of Us franchise is finding new mainstream success with the HBO series. . It won’t end anytime soon“.
The hope is that these toxic attitudes and verbal attacks by some individuals against performers will soon come to an end. As for the character, Laura Bailey would like to reinterpret Abby in The Last of Us, and who knows if in a possible Part III it doesn’t exactly happen.
Bro, I haven’t been on Naughty Dog’s payroll since 2017. I’m not their complaints department. I think you forgot a cc on this one, champ.

I hate posting stuff like this and for years I kind of put up with it in silence, but I think I want people to know that this stuff is still happening. Especially with the franchise now enjoying mainstream success on HBO. It’s not going away anytime soon.
