NEW YORK – Looking for an excuse to test your taste-testing skills? National Empanada Day can be a great place to start.
Starting Saturday, April 8, the Queens Chamber of Commerce will launch the first-ever Queens Best Pies Competition.
The public can nominate their favorite place to taste these delicacies until the end of April.
From May 4 to May 14, people can vote for the champion.
“Queens has arguably one of the best Latin American cuisines in the world, with several restaurants across the county serving up delicious stuffed sandwiches… I can’t wait to visit the winning restaurant and try some of their offerings” , said Tom Grech, President and CEO. of the Queens Chamber of Commerce.
So what awaits the winner?
The restaurant with the most votes will win the bragging rights that come with making the best patty in Queens, as well as a “free membership in the Queens Chamber of Commerce.”
The winners will be announced on Monday, May 22.
