Suspects arrested in case of disappearance of Kristin Smart

Paul Flores was arrested in connection with the Kristin Smart disappearance case. According to Ian Parkinson, Sheriff of San Luis Obispo County, California, additional evidence related to the case was found.

Paul Flores, 44, was arrested in the Los Angeles area . Paul’s father, Rubén Flores, 80, was also arrested. According to San Luis Obispo County Jail records, Rubén Flores was booked on suspicion of being an accessory to a felony.

Defense attorney Robert Sanger confirmed that Paul Flores was arrested in connection with the Kristin Smart disappearance case, however no details are available about the charges he faces.

News of Paul Flores’ arrest comes about a month after Sheriff Ian Parkinson named him as the prime suspect in the case.

Over the years, Paul Flores has not spoken on the matter, invoking his Fifth Amendment right not to answer questions before a grand jury. In February this year, he was arrested on weapons charges , but was released on bail.

For their part, Kristin’s family mentioned that they have waited for this bittersweet day for more than 24 years and hope that this day represents the first step in bringing their daughter home.
