Good Friday began with the reading of the seven words that precede the last journey that, for Catholics, the Son of God made before dying on the cross.
In the Hermitage of Charity, the Passion of Christ with the devotees, includes lit candles and the most traditional images, among which Jesus and his mother who suffers today, the Virgin Mary.
In Miami, nearly a hundred people gathered to witness one of the most moving moments in Catholic tradition.
“It means having a full heart for our lord and it means honoring everything he went through for us and for me, that’s very important,” a parishioner said.
Other places also celebrate the millennial tradition. In the Miami Rescue Mission care space, along with a Thanksgiving meal, more than 200 volunteers washed the feet of the homeless.
The intention was for adults and children to feel important in the eyes of God.
