President Joe Biden is scheduled to deliver his first address to a joint session of Congress this Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. ET, two days before he will be 100 days in the White House.

The speech, which is similar to the official State of the Union address, will present Biden’s political priorities and accomplishments, and outline his vision for the country.

It is expected to emphasize its handling of the pandemic, the status of vaccines and its extensive infrastructure package and $ 1.9 billion jobs, a new proposal called the American Families Plan, and police reforms, among others.

Security will be heightened after the Jan.6 attack on the Capitol and after extremists expressed their desire to attack the compound during Biden’s speech.

The DC Guard will provide approximately 20 troops to the Capitol prior to Biden’s speech at the joint session of Congress.

Social distancing will be established for limited attendees; only certain members of the House and Senate, chosen by lottery, will be there in person.

President Joe Biden spoke after the CDC announced that fully vaccinated people can engage in outdoor activities without wearing masks.

President Pelosi announced Tuesday that North East Medical Services (NEMS) Health Director Dr. Kenneth Tai will be her virtual guest for President Biden’s speech.

This time, no guests will be allowed. Traditionally, most Supreme Court justices and cabinet secretaries also attend, but this time only a limited number will be in the chamber.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Democrat of California, and Vice President Kamala Harris will sit behind Biden, the first time in history that two women will be seated on the podium behind the president.

The total number of attendees will likely be around 200, although a senior Democratic aide said the final number could change.

Sen. Tim Scott, Republican of South Carolina, will deliver the Republican response to Biden’s speech, immediately following the president’s speech.
