The two bikes are inspired by Porsche’s first electric vehicle, the Taycan, announced in 2019 as the first step towards expanding its electrification ambitions, the company said.

Both have the same basic idea and structure, such as the adoption of a full-suspension carbon frame, but the purpose and customer base of the two bicycles are slightly different.

These bikes combine the technologies of various professional manufacturers. Developed in collaboration with e-bike expert Rotwild, it uses components from well-known bicycle parts makers such as Shimano, Magura and Crankbrothers. By adding Porsche’s sophisticated design and luxury to this, an expensive e-bike from $ 8,500 to $ 10,700.

Porsche e-bikes manufactured in Dieburg, Germany will be sold in the United States from this spring at Porsche dealers and some bicycle specialty stores. Three types of frame sizes are available.

The Porsche eBike Sport is a bike designed for everyday riding in the city. It is equipped with Shimano’s new EP8 motor that assists pedaling up to a maximum speed of 25km / h, an electric transmission system, and Magura’s high-performance brakes.
