Police arrested a man on Sunday who was locked up for several hours in a home in northwest Miami-Dade, authorities said.
The incident happened around 2:19 a.m. at a house in the 17700 block of Northwest 54th Avenue.
Police responded to the scene after receiving reports of gunfire in the area and upon arrival officers saw a man with a gun.
According to the Miami-Dade Police Department, the man refused to leave the house.
Some neighbors told NBC 6 they were scared by what they heard.
A neighbour, who did not want to be named, said he heard “five or six shots from what sounded like a gun”.
After several attempts to get the man out of the house, the Miami-Dade Police Special Response Team was able to apprehend the man without incident.
Police did not release the identity of the man in custody, but said he was being questioned.
