One person was killed and two others were injured in a high-speed crash in Gardena today.
Gardena Police Department officers responded at 3 a.m. to the intersection of Rosecrans and Vermont Avenues where they found the victims, authorities said.
One person died at the scene and the two injured were taken to hospital under unknown conditions.
According to witnesses at the scene, one of the vehicles was traveling at high speed and ran a red light before the accident.
The accident forced the closure of all southbound Vermont lanes for several hours.
