NEW JERSEY – The backlog in US passport processing continues to affect millions of people across the country. Currently, a US passport renewal application can take between 10 and 13 weeks and for those who want it faster, by paying extra, it can take between seven and nine weeks, depending on the government.
The demand for passports is “unprecedented”, according to government officials. Please note that if you request that your passport be mailed to you, it will take longer.
However, if you reside in New Jersey and intend to travel, you will have the opportunity to attend one of the special fairs to help process passports that are hosted by the country’s Department of State. Most events are for new customers and children who use the DS-11 form to apply. If you meet the requirements to renew your passport, you must renew it by post.
