A worker at the Mexican consulate in Las Vegas will be removed from her job after she allegedly threatened Mexican citizens to call the police if they did not leave public facilities.
The events happened on Tuesday March 21 and were captured on video. The clip was posted on social networks and provoked complaints from Internet users.
In the video, the woman is heard telling visitors they couldn’t check in because it was “private property.”
The Mexican Consulate in Las Vegas said in the statement that the worker’s response was not adequate, “which is why her attention has been drawn and steps have been taken to ensure this does not happen again.”
For its part, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) has also spoken out on this fact and has made it known that the worker qualified as a “service provider” will stop working at the Consulate in the coming days.
