An Ocala man has been charged with 25 counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Paul Zittel was arrested by authorities after authorities received reports that several files showing child sexual abuse material had been uploaded to the internet. An investigation later confirmed that the children’s content had been downloaded from the defendant’s intellectual property.
When authorities obtained a search warrant for Zittel’s residence, located at 4210 SE 46th Street in Ocala, officers found “countless printed photographs of pornography.”
Detectives seized the printed materials, a computer and a digital storage device and removed them from the house.
Zittel was arrested and transported to Marion County Jail, where he is still being held on $250,000 bond.
Detectives estimated that there were over 220,000 printed images in Zittel’s possession, which together weighed around 2,600 pounds.
