Actor Kevin Costner and his wife Christine are about to end their marriage.
The 68-year-old actor confirmed in a statement through a spokesperson that he has initiated divorce proceedings with his wife.
“It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have arisen which have compelled Mr. Costner to participate in a marriage dissolution action. We ask that you, Christine and her children’s privacy be respected during that they’re going through this tough time,” Kevin Costner’s rep said.
Costner married Christine Baumgartner, a former model and bag designer, in 2004, with whom he has three children: Grace, 12, Hayes, 14, and Cayden, 15.
This is Kevin Costner’s second marriage. During his previous relationship with Cindy Silva, he had three other children: Lily, Annie and Joe. The first divorce took place in 1994 after 16 years.
Costner was born in 1955 in Lynwood, California, and has participated in numerous film productions and television series. His career has led him to receive several awards including the Oscar and the Golden Globes.
