The entire Florida Senate voted in favor of carrying guns without a license, leaving room for the measure to reach the office of state governor Ron DeSantis to be signed into law. Last Friday, the House of Representatives approved the counterpart project.
SB 543, which passed 27-13, allows a person to carry a concealed weapon without a license and would only need to carry valid identification if asked to do so by police.
If the governor approves the measure, Florida becomes the 25th state to have such regulations.
