The 31-year-old woman will be presented before a judge this Tuesday, according to what was announced by Mariel Colón Miró, Emma’s lawyer.
“A criminal complaint is simply an accusation and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law” is explained at the end of the statement issued by the United States Department of Justice.
His representative confirmed that the accusations against him will be read to him this Tuesday. Coronel will be represented by the attorneys who defended her husband in what became known as the trial of the century, in 2019, Jeffrey Lichtman and Mariel Colón Miró.
Colón ruled out traveling before the appearance, from New York to Washington, and commented that he would attend the case remotely and then decide if he should physically move to where his client is.
