Authorities are asking for the community’s help in the search for the suspect, but ask that if they see him they do not approach him.
The search for the suspect who killed a Honduran family of five, including an 8-year-old boy with an AR-15 rifle Friday night is still ongoing Sunday.
Francisco Oropeza, 38, of Mexican origin, was identified as the suspect in the shooting. Oropeza fled on foot after the shooting into a forest, authorities said. He is considered armed and dangerous.
“He could be anywhere right now, ” San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office Chief Greg Capers said Saturday.
The suspect may be wearing a blue or black jacket with white lettering, although as the hours passed that may have changed, authorities said. Oropeza also has a large tattoo of what appears to be an Aztec woman on his left forearm.
According to authorities, the subject opened fire inside the home after the victims asked him to stop firing his gun in the yard because it was late and a baby was trying to sleep.
The shooting victims were identified Saturday as Sonia Argentina Guzman, 25, Diana Velazquez Alvarado, 21, Julisa Molina Rivera, 31, Jose Jonathan Casarez, 18, and Daniel Enrique Laso Guzman, 8.
