For lovers of pastries from the famous brand by Entenmann there is good news.
This is due to the return to the market of popular packaging with a transparent window that allows you to see the delicious baked goods in the box. The packaging had been replaced with product images due to a material supply disruption in 2021 following Hurricane Ida which broke a dam near Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, the plant that produces Entenmann’s, the company said that year.
“The event destroyed 5,000 tonnes of packaging inventory and caused critical damage to the machines that produce the cartons and boxes. The emergency had a severe impact on Entenmann’s entire supply chain, from bakeries that produce sweet baked goods to those that deliver fresh produce daily to retailers, and caused a brief disruption in product availability,” the statement said during Ida’s appearance.
“Our goal is to ensure that our consumers can continue to enjoy their favorite Entenmann products,” said Jason Amar, Chief Marketing Officer of Entenmann, Bimbo Bakeries USA in 2021. Entenmann’s Classic Window is a specialist solution. Changing the packaging to a windowless and lidded option offers the quickest way to get products back on the shelves.”
However, after almost two years, packaging with the transparent window is returning to stores. Consumers are celebrating the 100+ year old company by reintroducing its traditional presentation.
Entenmann’s parent, Grupo Bimbo, confirmed to TODAY.com that the packages were indeed back in stores.
“Entenmann’s is excited to return to our iconic clear window packs!” Maureen Sticco, vice president and general manager of sweet baked goods for Bimbo Bakeries USA, told TODAY.com. “We made the change out of necessity in September 2021 (we experienced a material supply disruption caused by Hurricane Ida) and still plan to return to our original packaging. We are glad the time is right and we like that our consumers are also delighted.”
