Nohemí’s husband had only seconds to run and save the life of a man who crashed into a power pole and caused an explosion.
“They had to break the windows, put the door inside, it was safe, together they got the person out,” says Nohemí.
Everything happened on the plantation, according to the authorities, the driver received serious injuries, but they do not pose a danger to his life.
Shortly after, a very worried girl arrived on the scene.
“And when she saw the car she put her hands on her head and started crying, suddenly she’s familiar, we saw her so desperate, he’s fine. He was one of those who helped save them and help them, and he hugged my husband. He’s my dad.”
For Nohemí this is not something new, she says that on Sunrise Blvd, cars go very fast, and where the accident happened is a school zone.
She says she is very moved by the good deed of her husband
“I was moved, it was a catastrophic situation, the transformer was on the car and it could fall because it was holding the cables.”
FPL teams moved in to repair the damage as hundreds of homes were left dark.
“Every time there’s an accident like this hitting the power poles, the power goes out, the whole community, they were without power.”
